House Plans

In the fall of 2010 we began our house search by visiting nearly every show home in Winnipeg's annual Parade of Homes.  It quickly became apparent that we needed to start from scratch and do a completely custom design to suit our needs.  Cheryl began working on house plan designs using a 3D Home Architect program.  It took several months and a lot of discussion to come up with the exact layout and size.

We wanted a home with a large open concept living area that would be well suited for entertaining.  At the same time we also needed to accommodate our 5 very large dogs.  We created several unique areas of the home to make living with 5 big dogs a lot easier and more manageable.  They have their own bedroom area and access to a large covered outdoor dog run.

The lot itself is 1/2 acre on the La Salle River bordered by mature oak and spruce trees.  We have fantastic views of the La Salle River and perfect access for snowmobiling in the winter.  It is on a dead-end road so there is very little traffic and we only have neighbors on two sides because we have an open field across the street and the river behind us.

The home is a 2322 sq ft bungalow with two bedrooms and an office/3rd bedroom on the main level.  The Great Room area is at the rear of the home overlooking the river and opens into the large kitchen and dining room.  The lower level has plans for two more bedrooms as well as a media room and bar area.
