Construction begins! A survey crew staked out the location of our future basement and we met Dynasty Homes to walk the lot and discuss tree removal. For now we will remove only those trees necessary and decide on the final tree removal once the house is complete. The basement is scheduled to be dug tomorrow.

The basement has now been dug and the concrete piles are poured. We met with Curtis Carpets for our initial color selections and went to the Kitchen and Bath Renovation Show for ideas.

Construction was delayed for about a week due to extremely cold temperatures. We have selected our windows, flooring, cabinets, and plumbing fixtures. Most of the basement wall forms are in place as well as the main steel beams for the floor.

With the walls in place now it's really starting to take shape. The garage piles and footings should be next.

Most of the internal walls have been framed and the footings for the garage have been poured.

Suddenly we have a house. The roof trusses are all in place and the garage has been framed. The roof is beginning to be sheeted. The interior is fully framed.

While we were getting our current home ready to be sold we disconnected our computer and were unable to update the website for some time. The house is now at the drywall stage. Shingles have been installed as well as plumbing, electrical and insulation. The lot has been graded.

Drywall is now complete and hydro is finally hooked up. Things should progress a lot faster now. The fireplace was installed today.
Now that the construction phase is complete all future updates will be in the Finishing Touches section.
